Griffith Announces $150,803 HHS Grant to Virginia Tech for Children Research
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Virginia Tech, based in Blacksburg, Virginia, a $150,803 research grant. The funding supports research into the behavior and neurology of young children involved in interactive video viewing platforms. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Children have abundant access to television and digital services, potentially affecting their attention and comprehension abilities. “This HHS grant for more than $150,000 helps Virginia Tech study the impacts of interactive video viewing platforms on the behavioral health of children.” BACKGROUND This August, Congressman Griffith announced a series of HHS grants to Virginia Tech for research. In July, Congressman Griffith announced separate HHS grants to Virginia Tech for cancer research.
