Hurd appointed as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs

January 9, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Jeff Hurd (CO-03) announced that Chairman Bruce Westerman (AR-4), Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, has selected him to be Chairman of the Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs. “I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Indian and Insular Affairs Subcommittee, and to build upon the great work of past chairwoman Rep Hageman,” said Rep. Hurd. “Having the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Native American tribes in my district will ensure they have a voice for opportunities to thrive in these western lands we call home. The subcommittee oversees residents of the U.S. Territories that face high poverty rates and are underrepresented in essential federal programs.
