Leader Jeffries Statement on Firing of Military Generals

San Francisco, CA – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement: The Trump administration, enabled by compliant House Republicans, has weakened America’s national security by unjustifiably firing three highly decorated military leaders. General CQ Brown, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife have all served our nation with honor, courage and distinction. General CQ Brown has devoted his professional life to keeping America safe in an increasingly dangerous world. He is a patriot and a hero. There is no justification for his termination, particularly given the presence of a woefully unqualified Secretary of Defense who the Senate Republicans inexplicably confirmed. Vladimir Putin is smiling at the continued dismantling of our nation’s military, the most lethal fighting force the world has ever seen. ###
