Shri Thanedar Introduces Resolution to Celebrate the Opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced a resolution to celebrate the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge and the friendship between the United States and Canada. “I am proud to announce that at long last, the Gordie Howe International Bridge is finally open” said Rep. Shri Thanedar. “This groundbreaking development will spur economic growth, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen the valuable relationship between the United States and Canada. I look forward to the tremendous benefits that the bridge will deliver to both countries for generations to come." Congressman Thanedar played a crucial role in ensuring the bridge’s opening. After months of delays, he brought House Homeland Security leaders, Reps. Bennie G. Thompson and Lou Correa, to Detroit to demand the bridge be opened.
