Important Tax Day Information

Dear friends and neighbors, This year, the average tax refund is 11% higher than it was last year. That means there’s a good chance you’ll see more of your hard-earned money stay in your pocket, right where it belongs, due to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. Just last week in Ohio, a pizza delivery driver told me he used his increased refund to pay off his car, and a young restaurant server was able to pay off her college loan. These are the meaningful, real-life examples of the benefits in this package. My goal as your U.S. Senator is simple: help working families get ahead by making life more affordable and helping you keep more of what you earn. The Working Families Tax Cuts Act includes the following benefits for Ohioans: ✅No tax on tips ✅No tax on overtime ✅An increased child tax credit of $2,200 ✅A permanent 20% tax deduction for small businesses ✅A partially refundable adoption tax credit of up to $5,000 ✅A senior tax deduction of $6,000 Altogether, this law helped prevent a tax hike that would have cost the average family of 4 earning $80,000 about $1,700 MORE in federal taxes.
