Congresswoman Bynum Blasts FEMA’s Denial of Disaster Relief Resources to Oregon
Image July 31, 2025 Press Release Oregon City, OR – Today, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (D-OR) spoke out against the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) decision to deny the state’s public assistance request following the severe storms, landslides, and mudslides that impacted the state in March 2025. "When natural disasters strike, Americans deserve to know they’ll have our nation’s support,” said Congresswoman Bynum. “This Administration's refusal to support Oregonians after the disasters earlier this year is yet another example of their disinterest in serving the American people. If they’re denying this request, who’s to say that they won’t do the same after a wildfire? We urgently need federal resources to prevent lasting impacts to our communities. I’ll keep pushing this Administration to provide Oregon the resources we need to rebuild stronger and more resilient and to prevent future damage to our communities and environment." ### Issues : Environment
