Warnock Secures Federal Investments for Georgia Communities in Government Funding Legislation

Senator Reverend Warnock secured $396 million in federal funding for projects in communities across Georgia The Senator voted to support the agriculture, rural development, and military construction bills on August 1, 2025 The funding includes $855,000 for the food bank Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia to build a kitchen to prepare meals for low-income children and seniors Senator Warnock also secured over $1 million for Baxley and Appling County Hospital to upgrade the hospital’s HVAC system to ensure a safe, healthy, and energy-efficient environment for patients and employees Over $380 million of the funding will go towards infrastructure upgrades at military installations across Georgia, including $127 million to construct a new elementary school at Fort Benning in Columbus Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) secured approximately $396 million in federal funding for community improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades at military installations across Georgia in recently passed government funding legislation. The funding was secured in the agriculture and rural development and military construction bills, two of the twelve annual appropriations bills that fund the federal government. The Senator voted to pass this legislation on August 1, 2025. Over $380 million of the funding will go towards infrastructure upgrades at military installations across Georgia. Over $12 million will support projects in South Georgia, investing in public safety, food access for low-income Georgians, rural hospital infrastructure, and more. The funding for South Georgia includes $855,000 for the food bank Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia to build a kitchen to prepare meals for low-income children and seniors. Senator Warnock also secured over $1 million for Baxley and Appling County Hospital to upgrade the hospital’s HVAC system to ensure a safe, healthy, and energy-efficient environment for patients and employees. As a champion for Georgia’s servicemembers and military communities, Senator Warnock helped secure major investments for infrastructure projects at several bases, including $27 million to construct a new dining hall at the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC), $127 million for the construction of Dexter Elementary School at Fort Benning, $166 million for an evidence storage facility at Fort Gillem, and more. Infrastructure projects at military installations across Georgia receiving direct federal investments were championed by both Senators Warnock and Jon Ossoff (D-GA). In addition to funding specific projects across the state that were championed by Senator Warnock, the bill includes $8.2 billion for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), a $603 million increase from last year. The bill also provides $1.7 billion for rural housing assistance.
