Murphy Hosts North Carolina Constituent to Testify at House VA Committee

January 27, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement in response to Sergeant Major (Ret.) Paul McKenna, USMC, testifying in front of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs on the challenges veterans face using the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network. "It was an honor to host Sergeant Major (Ret.) Paul McKenna to testify in front of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "McKenna's compelling testimony on the challenges veterans face in receiving health care moved the committee immensely. We continued to fail our veterans in this country, and it is despicable. Those who wore the uniform and fought for our freedom deserve to receive timely access to high-quality care. I am very grateful for McKenna's service to our nation and for taking the time to share his story dealing with the failures of VA Community Care Network before Congress." Background McKenna served our country in the United States Marine Corps for 36 years, earning three Legion of Merit awards, two Bronze Stars, two Meritorious Service Medals, four Navy Commendation Medals, including two with combat distinction, four Navy Achievement Medals, two Combat Action Ribbons, and the Presidential Service Badge.
