Congressman Harris Delivers $8 Million to Upgrade Eastern Shore Freight Rail Lines
January 23, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) delivered $8 million in federal funding for the Enhancing Eastern Shore Freight Rail Growth and Reliability Project, a high-priority infrastructure initiative to repair and upgrade the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Centreville 9 and Chestertown freight rail lines in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties.
