Ocasio-Cortez Releases Fact Sheet Highlighting Republican Cuts to Veterans’ Services on Eve of Trump’s Military Parade

June 13, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C. - Ahead of President Trump’s military parade on Saturday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) released a fact sheet highlighting the devastating impact the Trump Administration’s policies would have on veterans across the country. Donald Trump’s parade to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th Birthday—which coincides with his 79th Birthday—is expected to cost up to $45 million . This expenditure comes as the Trump Administration is pushing to slash services for veterans, including 16.6% of staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs and eliminating the Veteran Assistance Servicing Purchase (VASP) program, which will lead to home foreclosures for at least 60,000 veterans .
