Newhouse Votes to Advance Homeland Security Funding

March 5, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse released the following statement after passage of H.R. 7744, Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026 . The legislation passed by a vote of 221-209. “Once again, House Republicans are advancing legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the remainder of the fiscal year and end the shutdown perpetrated by my colleagues on the other side of the aisle." said Rep. Newhouse. “With increased domestic threats due to military action in the Middle East, we must act swiftly to fund counterterrorism, cybersecurity, border security, TSA, and emergency management agencies.
