In case you missed it, Senator Rick Scott wrote a
letter
to the editor of the
Wall Street Journal
in response to Matthew Hennessey’s article “
Capitalism Needs Champions
.
” In his letter, Senator Scott calls out the hypocrisy of far-left radical socialists like Zohran Mamdani, who benefit from capitalism while attempting to undermine it, and notes that capitalism brings opportunity and makes the American Dream possible for people like him and millions of hardworking Americans in Florida and across the country, while socialism brings tyranny and destruction.
In the
letter
to the editor,
Senator Rick Scott
writes, “
Capitalism doesn’t merely make the billionaire on Wall Street possible.…
It allowed me—a kid who grew up in public housing—to open a donut shop and, in good time, run the nation’s largest healthcare company. Socialism robs people of their talents and opportunities, invariably resulting in deprivation and tyranny.
…
Ask the families in my state who have fled Caracas and Havana. Leaders of regimes that disdain free markets enjoy opulence while their citizens are left with next to nothing. There’s a reason the U.S. is the envy of the world and the home of life-saving innovations in medicine and agriculture: It’s that we reject the failed ideologies of socialism.
