October 31, 2025 Press Release (Washington, DC) —On Friday, October 31, 2025, Congressman Al Green proudly introduced the annual "Domestic Violence Awareness Month Resolution of 2025.” This significant bipartisan resolution recognizes the urgent need for national action, expanded support services, and increased awareness for survivors and families affected by domestic violence. A copy of the resolution can be accessed by clicking here . The resolution highlights the millions of Americans affected each year, acknowledges the disproportionate impact on women and marginalized communities, and calls attention to the serious physical, emotional, and economic consequences for survivors and families. Through this resolution, Congressman Green, along with 141 of his colleagues, calls on Congress to support programs that work to end domestic violence and protect both female and male victims. Congressman Al Green stated, “Domestic violence is a national crisis; we cannot force survivors to suffer in silence or permit the systems meant to protect them to falter. As a nation, we have both a moral and constitutional duty to ensure every person’s right to safety, dignity, and justice. By recognizing October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are taking a stand to strengthen federal protections, expand survivor resources, and hold abusers accountable. America must lead with compassion, legislate with conviction, and act with courage to end domestic violence.”
