Senator Adam Hinojosa Applauds Passage of SB2 Out of Education Committee
Austin, TX - on January 28th 2025, Senator Adam Hinojosa, a proud member of the Senate
Education Committee, played an instrumental role in the passage of Senate Bill 2, also knows as
the Texas Education Freedom Act, out of committee. The bill, a significant step forward in
empowering parents and enhancing school choice, reflects Senator Hinojosa's commitment to
ensuring every child in Texas has access to a high-quality education.
"It should always be the goal of education to ensure our students are getting the best education
possible," said Senator Hinojosa. "Giving parents the final say in where their children go to
school means that parents are in control of their child's future. This is a fundamental step toward
ensuring that all Texas families have the tools they need to choose the best educational
environment for their children."
Senator Hinojosa expressed his gratitude to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick for his leadership and for
appointing him to the Education Committee, where he has been able to work closely on this
critical legislation.
SB2 is a cornerstone of the Texas Legislature's efforts to advance school choice and give parents
the opportunity to direct their child's educational path. By serving 100,000 students in the first
year, Texas will have the single largest school choice program in the nation. Senator Hinojosa

first," Senator Hinojosa added. "I look forward to the final votes on SB2 and working with my
colleagues to make educational choice a reality for families across Texas"
