We recently read about the opening of Bubl Cups in Port Orchard, Washington, the city’s first bubble tea shop, co-founded by Heatherlyn Lizama and her family, including her husband who is originally from Tinian. At a time when the CNMI is working through storm recovery, it’s meaningful to see members of our diaspora carrying forward the values of hard work, family, and perseverance. The Lizama family’s journey, growing from a small popup into a permanent storefront, reflects the same determination we are seeing at home as our islands begin to rebuild.
