Rep. Valerie Foushee Votes Against GOP Continuing Resolution That Puts ICE Funding Over Long-Term Security For TSA Workers
WASHINGTON, DC (March 27, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04) released the following statement after voting against a Continuing Resolution presented by House Republican leadership. The U.S. Senate has already passed a Funding Package for the Department of Homeland Security that omits funding for ICE . “While TSA workers are set to miss anther paycheck and ICE continues to terrorize immigrant communities, House Republicans rebuffed the Senate’s Homeland Security funding package that omits ICE funding. Instead, they are attempting to push through a 60-day funding package that fails to provide long-term security for TSA employees and continues to fund ICE,” said Congresswoman Valerie Foushee . “I refuse to vote for further funding for ICE. Though I am disappointed to see Congress refuse to respond to Trump’s inhumane immigration enforcement, Republicans can no longer pretend that their partial shutdown is about supporting federal workers—it’s about supporting ICE, and ICE only."
