Fitzpatrick Announces Additional $1.25 Million for United Way’s HELP Center, Building on $4.15 Million Commitment to Bucks County Families
Levittown, PA – Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced a major victory for Pennsylvania’s First District, securing an additional $1.25 million in federal Community Project Funding for United Way of Bucks County’s new permanent headquarters and HELP Center in Levittown, bringing the total federal investment he has championed for the project to $4.15 million . Building on the $2.9 million Fitzpatrick previously advanced through the FY24 appropriations process , this latest investment marks another major milestone in a years-long partnership to transform how Bucks County families access essential services, emergency assistance, and opportunities for long-term stability. Since opening, the new HELP Center has served more than 3,200 unique neighbors , with United Way reporting a 60% increase in neighbors served compared to the previous quarter at its former location. Remarking on the impact , Marissa Christie, President & CEO of United Way of Bucks County stated: “ United Way of Bucks County’s new headquarters and HELP Center represents an extraordinary opportunity for Bucks County. Thanks to Congressman Fitzpatrick’s leadership and his commitment to this work, we can make it easier for more people to get the help they need, connect families with opportunities for greater financial stability, and build a stronger future for our neighbors. His support helped turn an ambitious vision into a reality that will benefit Bucks County for generations to come.” “I’ve had the honor of working alongside Marissa Christie and the extraordinary United Way team for many years, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference their dedication makes in the lives of our neighbors. When Marissa shared her vision for a permanent home that could fundamentally improve how we serve families across Bucks County, I got to work. I made this project a priority and fought for $4.15 million in federal investment to help turn that vision into reality. Today, that vision is making a measurable difference—reaching more neighbors, connecting families with critical resources, and creating new pathways to stability and opportunity. That is the true measure of this investment: not simply the dollars committed, but the lives changed and the opportunities created. I’m grateful for United Way’s unwavering commitment to our community, and I look forward to building on our partnership to ensure more families have the support and opportunities they need to thrive,” said Fitzpatrick. A Lasting Investment in Bucks County The new HELP Center represents a significant expansion of United Way’s ability to meet both immediate needs and long-term challenges facing Bucks County families. The permanent facility will: Expand access to critical assistance: Increase capacity to provide essential goods, emergency resources, and coordinated support to more individuals and families. Strengthen community partnerships: Bring nonprofit organizations, municipal partners, and service providers together to improve coordination, reduce barriers, and ensure assistance reaches those who need it most. Create pathways to greater stability: Connect families with workforce resources, housing and health-related assistance, and opportunities to achieve greater financial independence. Delivering For Pennsylvania’s First District The HELP Center investment is part of Fitzpatrick’s broader commitment to advancing community-driven projects throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Through the FY2026 Community Project Funding process, Fitzpatrick successfully championed more than $27.5 million for 11 community projects addressing critical local needs across Pennsylvania’s First District. With this latest round of funding, Fitzpatrick has brought more than $80 million in federal Community Project Funding to PA-01 since FY2022 , translating priorities identified by local communities into lasting investments in the people, services, and infrastructure that strengthen the region. Together, these investments reflect Fitzpatrick’s community-first leadership, empowering local organizations, responding to community needs, and ensuring federal resources translate into meaningful, measurable, and lasting benefits for Bucks and Montgomery counties. ###
