WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Ashley Moody today voted to pass Senator Markwayne Mullin’s nomination for Department of Homeland Security Secretary out of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
“Democrats jeopardized our national security with four years of reckless border policies under Biden, and now they continue to do so by refusing to fund the very agency charged with keeping us safe. Senator Mullin is a fighter and a true patriot. I cannot think of a better pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security at this time to keep Americans safe,” saidSenator Ashley Moody
Senator Mullin’s nomination to lead DHS now heads to the Senate Floor for a full vote.
Ahead of the vote, Senator Moody questioned Sen. Mullin about the crisis created by four years of Biden’s reckless border and Mullin’s commitment to address the challenges and security threats facing the nation today.
