Miller-Meeks Completes Second Annual Made in America Manufacturing Tour

August 13, 2026 Press Release IOWA — Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) this past week completed her Second Annual Made in America Manufacturing Tour, a two-day, four-stop visit through southeast Iowa's manufacturing sector highlighting the workers and companies driving the district's economy. "We need to stop shipping jobs overseas," said Congresswoman Miller-Meeks . "Iowa workers can build anything this country needs, and it's Washington's job to make sure the policies reward companies that build here, not overseas." The tour opened at Wilton Precision Steel , where Congresswoman Miller-Meeks toured the facility and met with company leadership and workers. At Gerdau , which employs 240 Iowans, Congresswoman Miller-Meeks discussed the impact of pro-growth policies she has fought for, including No Tax on Overtime, which Gerdau leadership confirmed is already leading to increased overtime hours for the company's workforce. She also toured the facility's clean steel operations, which recycle 96% of steel from scrap and reuse 97% of process water. "Manufacturing remains one of the strongest drivers of economic growth.
