Sen. Moran Announces $780,000 in Federal Resources to Improve Rural Patient Transportation

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) today announced $780,000 in federal resources for two Kansas rural health providers to improve patient transportation between health care facilities, reduce delays and provide access to timely care for rural Kansans while improving outcomes for patients and providers. “Access to quality health care makes a significant difference in the well-being of rural Kansas communities,” said Sen. Moran. “Investing in innovative transportation solutions will help reduce delays, connect rural Kansans with the care and treatments they need and give providers the resources to better serve their patients. I will continue working to make certain rural Kansas communities have the health care resources they need to thrive for years to come.” The funding was secured for Kansas through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), which Sen. Moran helped establish in last year’s reconciliation legislation. The RHTP was created to help identify the root challenges facing rural health providers and invest in solutions to improve outcomes for struggling providers, and it is administered by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Kansas Recipients: Pulse Transport, LLC (Pratt County) – $455,919.21 Labette County Medical Center (Labette County) – $325,000 # # #
