Austin Senators Judith Zaffirini, Sarah Eckhardt Release Statement on Mass Shooting

AUSTIN, TX – Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo) and Senator Sarah Eckhardt (D-Austin) released the following statement after Sunday’s (3/1) mass shooting in Austin:

“Austin, known for its vibrant and peaceful nightlife, experienced deadly violence again last night. Our thanks go to those who intervened, and our hearts go out to those injured and killed.”

“The gunman is believed to have had a pistol and an assault rifle. We must address the consequences of deadly weapons being so common and accessible.”
