Senator Mccormick Hosts Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — U.S. Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) today hosted the Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues at Temple University in Philadelphia, joined by former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and business leaders from across the Commonwealth. This first-of-its-kind event brought together C-suite executives, small and mid-sized business owners, federal and state regulators, and policy experts to identify burdensome regulations and develop practical solutions to help Pennsylvania businesses grow, create jobs, and compete. Senator McCormick convened business leaders across ten industries critical to Pennsylvania’s economy for direct, industry-by-industry problem-solving. Participants addressed challenges ranging from permitting delays and duplicative requirements to outdated regulations and inefficient government processes that prevent businesses from investing, hiring, and expanding. “Pennsylvania is home to some of the most innovative businesses and hardest-working people in America, but too often, unnecessary regulations and government bureaucracy stand in the way of their success,” said Senator McCormick . “Today, we brought business leaders and regulators together in Philadelphia to identify what’s holding them back and find practical solutions. My goal is to make it easier to invest, expand, and create good-paying jobs right here in Pennsylvania.” “I applaud Senator McCormick for bringing Pennsylvania’s business leaders together today and leading the charge on regulatory reform,” said former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey . “Regulation has a role in protecting public health and safety, but streamlining burdensome rules can unlock real economic potential.” Unlike traditional conferences or listening sessions, the Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues focused on producing concrete, actionable recommendations to help Pennsylvania businesses. Business leaders representing ten industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, defense, transportation, retail, higher education, and housing, worked directly with regulators and policymakers to identify specific barriers and potential reforms. Turning Recommendations into Results Within 60 days, Senator McCormick will compile the recommendations presented at the Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues into a report and deliver it directly to federal and state officials positioned to act. To ensure accountability, Senator McCormick will publicly track the progress of those recommendations, identifying what has been completed, what remains underway, and what still requires action. The Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues build on Senator McCormick’s broader efforts to convene leaders from business, government, and academia to unlock economic potential, create good-paying jobs, and expand opportunities for Pennsylvania. Following the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit in Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit in Carlisle, this initiative continues Senator McCormick’s commitment to bringing decision-makers together to deliver tangible results for Pennsylvania workers, businesses, and communities.
