Blumenthal Statement on Israeli Strikes on Iran

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement after Israel launched strikes on several sites in Iran:
“A nuclear-armed Iran is a threat to the entire world, including the United States. Paramount among our goals now must be to protect U.S. personnel in the region. I support Israel’s right to defend itself against this existential menace and providing Israel with the means to counter anticipated Iranian retaliation. My hope is that negotiations can be resumed and diplomacy can deescalate the ongoing confrontation and prevent wider regional conflict.”
