Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces More Than $7.7 Million in Federal Funding for Early Childhood Education and Behavioral Health Services in Western New York and the Southern Tier
May 18, 2026 Press Release Washington, D.C. –May 18, 2026…Congressman Nick Langworthy today announced more than $7.7 million in federal funding to organizations serving families and communities across Western New York and the Southern Tier. The funding, administered through the Department of Health and Human Services, will deliver $7,428,489 to Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. through the Head Start program to support early childhood education, school readiness, and family support services and $357,754 to the Seneca Nation of Indians through the Behavioral Health Integration Initiative to strengthen behavioral health services and improve access to integrated care within the community. “Investing in children, families, and mental health services strengthens communities across Western New York and the Southern Tier,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Programs like Head Start help ensure young children have the support and educational foundation they need to succeed, while behavioral health initiatives provide critical resources to individuals and families facing mental health and substance use challenges.
