Congresswoman Escobar Withholds Her Pay for Duration of the Republican Government Shutdown

Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar released the following statement after sending a letter to the Catherine Szpindor, Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives: “If federal employees aren’t getting paid, Members of Congress shouldn’t either. I’m withholding my own pay until all 18,000 federal employees in El Paso and all service members at Fort Bliss are paid.” The Congresswoman’s letter can be found here . # # #
