U.S. Senator Katie Britt Directly Secures Over $21.2 Million for North Alabama Through Appropriations Leadership

WASHINGTON,D.C.– U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, recently directly secured over $21.2 million for Northern Alabama through the Senate passage of three Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bills:theFY26 Labor, Health, and Human Services (LHHS) Appropriations Act, FY26 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Appropriations Act,and theFY26 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Act.
The bills, part of a larger package, will be sent back to the U.S. House of Representatives for a final vote before heading to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. Following the signing of this package into law, Senator Britt will have directly secured more than $25.3 million to North Alabama in FY26 appropriations funding.
“These appropriations bills will support North Alabama, including through improving transportation infrastructure, supporting cutting-edge research, and procuring critical medical equipment,”said Senator Britt.“I’m proud to have directly secured these key investments and look forward to continuing to fight for Alabamians every single day on the Appropriations Committee.”

In theFY26 THUDbill, Senator Britt also helped to secure $10 million for the National Scenic Byways Program, which includes the Natchez Trace Parkway in Alabama.
