Womack Votes to Avoid Government Shutdown
WASHINGTON, D.C.—September 19, 2025… Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today supported H.R. 5371 – Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026 that will extend government funding at current levels through November 21, 2025. Congressman Womack said, “I reluctantly voted for this short-term stopgap with the understanding that we will have a number of full-year bills enacted before it expires. I’m encouraged by the work being done to conference the first three bill package. But let me be clear – talk is cheap. I expect action to avoid another debilitating full-year CR.” Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. womack.house.gov ###
