Joyce, House Colleagues Vote to Pass FY26 Defense Appropriations Bill

<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C. – </strong>Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14), Chair of the House Appropriations Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee, voted for H.R. 4016, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026, which passed the House of Representatives. The bill provides a total discretionary allocation of $831.5 billion and makes critical investments in our military to safeguard our nation.</p>

<p>“As a member of the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, I am proud to see this legislation pass the House. With threats growing across the world, we must continue to invest in our troops and military capabilities,” <strong>said Congressman Joyce</strong>. “This bill modernizes our military, deters our adversaries, and enhances the well-being of our servicemembers and their families. I am proud to fight for our military and servicemembers in Congress and will continue to work with my colleagues to bolster our national security.”</p>

<p><strong><u>Fiscal Year 2026 Defense Appropriations Act:</u></strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Supports our troops and their families</strong> by including an increase of 3.8% in basic pay for all military personnel, effective January 1, 2026.</li>

<li><strong>Combats the opioid crisis and international drug trafficking </strong>by providing $1.15 billion for counter drug programs.</li>

<li><strong>Enhances our national security </strong>by allocating $13 billion for missile defense and space programs.</li>

<li><strong>Modernizes our military capabilities</strong> by providing $148 billion for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation to the military services.</li>

<li><strong>Restores fiscal responsibility </strong>by getting rid of waste, fraud, and abuse in the Pentagon.</li>
