December 12, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON —Today, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee during its Member Day hearing, sounding the alarm on runaway healthcare costs and the urgent need to rein in Washington’s wasteful spending. Congressman Bean said, “Rampant fraud and unchecked spending are driving costs higher and eroding trust. It’s time to break the cycle and ensure taxpayer dollars are used for their intended purpose. With these reforms, we can protect vulnerable Americans, restore confidence in our healthcare system, and deliver the efficient, affordable care the American people deserve.” BACKGROUND During the hearing, Congressman Bean outlined legislative action he has taken to crack down on fraud and restore accountability in America’s healthcare system: H.R. 6538, More Affordable Care Act: Takes on Obamacare’s failures and delivers real relief by driving down costs and empowering families to choose the care that fits their needs. H.R. 5873, PROMPT Act : Enhances transparency and accountability in Medicare by ensuring beneficiaries receive timely, clear information about services and costs. H.R. 5871, We Want Our Healthcare Money Back Act : Requires the HHS Inspector General to submit quarterly reports to Congress on Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Soon to be introduced, the Skin in the Game Act : Institutes a minimum monthly premium payment to safeguard against fraud in subsidized plans and restore accountability. ###
