Representative Sam Liccardo Responds to Retaliatory Attack on Israel

June 13, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the developing conflict between Israel and Iran, Rep. Sam Liccardo (CA-16) released the following statement: "A nuclear Iran is a nonstarter. I support Israeli efforts to dismantle Iran's nuclear capabilities before that regime can pose a much more lethal regional–and global–threat. “I condemn Iran’s deployment of missiles against heavily populated neighborhoods, such as those in Tel Aviv. I pray for the safety of Iranian and Israeli civilians, and my heart goes out to all of those caught in a war that is not of their choosing. “I’m disappointed that President Trump’s diplomatic efforts have been unsuccessful thus far, and I encourage all parties to get back to the negotiating table to de-escalate this situation immediately, and prevent a wider conflict with a greater loss of life.”
