President Trump Signs the HALT Fentanyl Act Into Law; Rep. Moore Was an Original Co-sponsor

July 16, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C. – Today, President Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law. Congressman Riley M. Moore was an original co-sponsor of the House version of the legislation, which permanently classifies fentanyl and fentanyl related substances as a Schedule 1 drug under the Controlled Substances Act. “We’ve lost countless lives in West Virginia to fentanyl poisoning.
