McClellan Statement on Federal Judge Blocking Trump Voter Suppression Measures

April 24, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) issued the following statement after Senior District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly blocked parts of President Trump’s executive order to restrict voter registration, threatening millions of Americans’ fundamental right to vote: “Today’s decision affirms that Congress and the States, not the President, regulate federal elections and determines eligibility to vote therein. I applaud Judge Kollar-Kotelly for blocking President Trump’s effort to change voter registration requirements by Presidential fiat.
