WASHINGTON, D.C., (February 25, 2025) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.Con.Res.14 , establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
“Everyone knows how I feel about our fiscal responsibility. This bill is where we start to right some of our wrongs. This budget resolution requires over a trillion dollars in mandatory savings over 10 years, and gives us a pathway to grow the economy by over two and a half trillion. President Trump and I spoke about our priorities which include securing our border, reducing the debt and inflation, cutting our spending, and leading with fiscal responsibility. He's asked us to give him a starting point and I thought this was it."
