New GDP Data Proves that Trump is Tanking the Economy

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement after new gross domestic product (GDP) data shows the economy shrank by 0.3% in the first quarter. “For all his broken promises, President Trump has accomplished one notable feat in his first 100 days – he tanked a growing economy and put us on the brink of a recession. Trump and Republicans promised to lower prices and grow the economy. The terrible reality is that 100 days in America is less affordable as a direct result of the president's reckless tariffs and economic chaos. The next 100 could be even worse as Congressional Republicans plan to gut Medicaid and food assistance to pay for another round of massive tax cuts for the wealthy. It’s clear where the president and Republicans stand, and it’s not with American families.”
