Rep. McGuire celebrates the passage of the Secure America Act

June 10, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following the passage of S.2- Secure America Act, Rep. John McGuire issued the following statement. “ The Secure America Act reinforces Republicans’ commitment to protecting American citizens and keeping crime out of our country,” said Rep. John McGuire (VA-05). “Funding Border Security and ICE is crucial to keeping our people safe, stopping the illicit flow of dangerous drugs into our country, and ensuring all Americans can live, work, and raise a family in peace. I am thankful my Republican House colleagues and I were able to get this across the finish line so the brave men and women of ICE and Border Patrol can have the resources they need to do their job and protect our nation. House Republicans are sending a clear message that dangerous, illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States of America.” Background: S. 2 provides $38 billion to ICE and $26 billion to Border Patrol to fully fund these critical Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components through Fiscal Year (FY) 2029. Providing this funding through the end of President Trump’s term ensures congressional Democrats are unable to hold paychecks for the brave men and women of ICE and Border Patrol hostage to their radical demands. The bill also provides a total of $5 billion in additional appropriations to DHS to account for any unforeseen costs that ICE and Border Patrol may incur in future years as it carries out its mission to keep the American people safe.
