VIDEO: Ricketts to Warsh: Get Inflation Under Control to Benefit All Americans
WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Yesterday, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) participated in a Senate Banking Committee Nomination Hearing for Kevin Warsh, nominated to be Chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Senator Ricketts discussed the importance of reducing inflation to benefit all Americans.
“I think you share the view that inflation is a silent tax on American households,”
said Ricketts.
“And my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have been talking about that, and I note — at least, I don’t recall — that they ever talked about that during the Biden administration… Inflation was caused by President Biden’s reckless policies and reckless spending.”
“If we get inflation under control, that is how we benefit all Americans,”
said
Ricketts. “
So what you’re really about is changing a policy at the Fed that has benefited — not just under the last administration, but previous administrations as well — people who have a lot of money. And you want to make sure we get off of this inflationary path.”
“During the Biden administration, we saw four consecutive years of declining real wages for American households,”
said Ricketts.
“What you want to do is get inflation under control so that all American households benefit.”
