VIDEO: Van Hollen, Warren Call for Hegseth to Be Fired Over Civilian Casualties

U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) released the followingvideocalling on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to be fired:
SENATOR CHRIS VAN HOLLEN (D-MD.):Pete Hegseth needs to be fired immediately, and here's why.
SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN (D-MASS.):A preliminary investigation out today reported that the US military likely bombed a girls' school, killing 175 people, mostly little girls, between the ages of about 7 and 14.
VAN HOLLEN:We had “Signalgate” where he put our troops at risk. We had him blowing up boats in the Caribbean.
WARREN:Yeah.
VAN HOLLEN:We had them targeting defenseless swimmers –
WARREN:That’s right with no accountability.
VAN HOLLEN:No accountability. He has no idea what he's doing in this war in Iran, and now an American missile hit an Iranian school, killing about 150 innocent school kids.
WARREN:And that's really the point. Senator Van Hollen and I've been working for a long time on questions around what’s called civilian harm, and we helped build into the law certain restrictions so whenever the military is thinking about an attack where there are civilians in the area, and innocent people could get harmed – it’s how to think through what are the risks? Are there ways to minimize the risks? Have we checked and double checked? Have we found ways to minimize the risks? But what did Pete Hegseth say about that?
VAN HOLLEN:Pete Hegseth, he came in and dismantled the whole system we’ve helped to build. He said they were “stupid rules of engagement.” As we know, rules of engagement are intended to prevent civilian harm. They’re to prevent war crimes.
WARREN:It's very different to have an accident, when people up and down the line from the leadership all the way down are saying: we will do our best not to drop bombs where there are little girls in a girls’ school – and to have a leadership that says even thinking about civilian harm is stupid.
VAN HOLLEN:Yes.
