Landsman on Federal Health & Safety Jobs Reinstated in Southwest Ohio

<p><em><strong>Cincinnati, Ohio </strong></em>&#8211; <em>Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) released the following statement after hundreds of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) jobs were cut in 2025 by the Trump Administration and later reinstated</em>:</p>

<p>We immediately got to work, organizing more than&nbsp;<a href="https://landsman.house.gov/posts/landsman-leads-100-members-of-congress-in-letter-to-save-niosh-reinstate-federal-workers">100 members of Congress</a>&nbsp;to get the Department of Health and Human Services’ attention to prioritize these jobs.</p>

<p><strong>Questioning RFK Jr. in committe</strong>e</p>

<p>I brought it up during my hearing in the Energy and Commerce Committee with Secretary of HHS RFK Jr. I publicly asked if we could work together on reinstating these jobs — and he said yes.</p>

<p><strong>We never took our foot off the gas</strong></p>

<p>My team and I then had a call with members of RFK Jr’s leadership team, and we sent them a list of every local NIOSH position that had been cut, advocating for each job.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And then we kept checking in so it was top of mind.</p>

<p>Seeing these jobs reinstated is a huge deal. That’s what members of Congress should do – go hard for the people you represent.</p>
