Congressman Valadao Releases Statement on Government Shutdown
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman David Valadao (CA-22) issued the following statement on the federal government shutdown. “As a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, I’ve worked hard to advance all 12 funding bills and voted for a clean, non-partisan extension of funding to keep the government open while Congress works toward a long-term solution,” said Congressman Valadao. “Unfortunately, Congressional Democrats refused to act responsibly and instead forced a shutdown—wasting taxpayer dollars, putting critical programs at risk, and hurting families across the country just to score political points. A shutdown doesn’t benefit anyone, and it’s past time for Democrats to stop with the reckless games, get serious about governing, and put the American people first." ###
