Callais Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (NH-02) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais: “The right to vote is the fundamental right from which all of our rights flow. The Supreme Court’s decision to dilute the voting rights and power of freedom-loving Americans by gutting critical provisions of the Voting Rights Act is dead wrong and downright dangerous. This decision undermines a fundamental promise that we make to one another as Americans: that every American deserves a fair shot to participate in our democracy.” Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to serving New Hampshire and our country. Before taking the oath of office, she served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, a professor of constitutional law at the University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth, a lawyer in the fight for voting rights with the New Hampshire Campaign for Voting Rights, and a law clerk to Justice Stephen Breyer on the United States Supreme Court. She is an original cosponsor of the John R.
