March 6, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON - Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) released the following statement “Representative Al Green is a dedicated public servant for the people of Houston.  We agree that President Trump did not receive a mandate to cut Medicare, Social Security, or SNAP. The President, nor Elon Musk, also did NOT receive a mandate to illegally undermine federal services that are critical for millions of Americans, such as veterans healthcare, western water management, and agriculture assistance. However, I respectfully disagree with disruptions during official proceedings of the United States Congress. We need to focus instead on the President’s distortions of the facts. As Democrats, our focus should remain on the critical issues that matter to the American people.” ###
