🇺🇸🇹🇼 Standing with Taiwan

From smartphones and tractors to military satellites — nearly every piece of technology we depend on relies on semiconductors made in Taiwan. That means a war more than 7,000 miles away could directly impact our economy right here in Iowa. Zoom in : The Chinese Communist Party has moved up its timeline for a potential invasion of Taiwan from 2049 to as soon as 2027. If they follow through, we could see: 📉 A 34% stock market crash 💥 A $10 trillion hit to global GDP 🏭 China seizing control of critical semiconductor production That would devastate U.S. manufacturing and spike prices — especially in rural economies like ours. The solution : I just introduced the bipartisan U.S.–Taiwan Defense Innovation Partnership Act to ensure the U.S. and Taiwan are working shoulder to shoulder to counter CCP aggression. Here’s what the bill would do : ✅ Fast-track collaboration on drones, AI, and microchip security ✅ Deploy dual-use technologies to counter China’s military buildup ✅ Strengthen supply chain resiliency for critical tech ✅ Equip Taiwan with the tools to defend its sovereignty and deter war Bottom Line: The best way to stop a war is to prevent it. By equipping Taiwan now, we make the cost of invasion too high for the CCP to follow through — protecting peace abroad and economic stability here in Iowa.
