Gillen Statement on Partisan Spending Bill

March 14, 2025 Press Release GARDEN CITY, NY – Tonight, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement on the partisan spending bill that cuts $30 million in direct funding to New York’s Fourth Congressional District: “This spending deal is bad for Nassau County. It cuts nearly $30 million in direct support to my district, including funding for law enforcement, flood management, and fixing our roads. It will hurt health programs for Long Island veterans who were exposed to toxic substances and shamefully excludes a permanent funding fix to the World Trade Center Health Program. The American people expect us to negotiate and work towards bipartisan budgets. This partisan spending bill isn’t that. I’ll always put my constituents first and I’ll continue to fight for Nassau County in Congress.” The Republican CR cuts nearly $30 million in direct support to New York’s Fourth Congressional that would have been funded by the FY2025 House and Senate appropriations bills released last year.
