Downing Applauds Authorization of Sentinel Project Funding in NDAA

December 10, 2025 Press Release Today, Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) released a statement following his vote supporting the passage of S. 1071, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 , which includes the authorization of $3,847,563,000 in funding for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrence Program (Sentinel) for FY26. “Now more than ever, America is being called upon to deliver peace through strength,” said Congressman Downing . “With this mandate comes no shortage of adversaries who wish our great nation harm. That’s why today, I supported legislation that invests in our national security by authorizing funding for the Sentinel program at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Sentinel is a cornerstone of America’s land based nuclear deterrence and brings highly specialized jobs to Great Falls.
