Senator Angela Mosley to Host Disaster Preparedness Community Forum
ST. LOUIS — State Sen. Angela Mosley, D-Florissant, plans to host a Disaster Preparedness Community Forum on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. in the following location:
Millennium Student Center
University of Missouri—St. Louis
17 Arnold B. Grobman Drive
St. Louis, Missouri 63121
The forum will focus on disaster readiness, emergency response coordination, community resilience and protecting vulnerable populations during severe weather and emergency events.
“In the wake of the disaster that struck St. Louis just last year, I believe we need to prepare ourselves for future crises,” Sen. Mosley said. “Preparedness saves lives. This forum is about ensuring that families, seniors, neighborhoods, faith institutions and community organizations have the information needed to respond before disaster strikes. We are bringing together trusted experts and emergency response partners to help our communities become stronger, safer and more resilient.”
The event will feature guest speaker Lt. General (Ret.) Russel Honore’, also known as “The Category 5 General.” Nationally recognized for his leadership during the Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, he continues to advocate for emergency preparedness, climate resilience and community protection initiatives nationwide.
The event is designed to provide residents with critical preparedness information regarding severe storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, flooding, extreme heat, power outages, emergency planning and family readiness strategies.
