Boyle Statement on the Release of Marc Fogel
February 11, 2025 Press Release PHILADELPHIA, PA – Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the following statement regarding the release of Marc Fogel, a Pennsylvania schoolteacher who had been wrongfully detained in Russia since 2021: “I am immensely relieved that Marc Fogel is finally coming home to his family after more than three years of unjust imprisonment. Marc, a dedicated educator from Pennsylvania, never should have been subjected to such an excessive and cruel sentence in the first place. His return is long overdue, and I can only imagine the deep sense of relief and joy his loved ones must feel today. While we celebrate Marc’s long-awaited release, we must not forget the many other Americans still wrongfully detained around the world. The U.S. must continue using every tool available to bring them home. No American should be left behind.” ### Issues : National Security and Foreign Policy
