Sen. Rick Scott Announces Bipartisan COOL Online Act to Require Online Retailers to Display Country of Origin

WASHINGTON, D.C.
– Today, Senator Rick Scott announced the reintroduction of the
Country of Origin Labeling Online (COOL) Act
with Senator Tammy Baldwin to require online sellers of foreign-made products to clearly disclose both the country of origin and the seller’s primary business location on their websites, with enforcement carried out by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
As the dangerous regime in Communist China seeks global dominance and to destroy the American economy, this legislation will bring more transparency to online shopping so American consumers can make informed, safe choices for their families and support American businesses.
