DeLauro Relieved West Haven Officers Safe After Shooting

January 30, 2025 Press Release Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released a statement following reports that two West Haven police officers, members of a multiregional Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) task force, were shot while executing a search warrant early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in New Haven. Reports indicate the officers were shot in their legs and have since been released from the hospital following treatment for their injuries. “I am relieved and grateful that both officers are safe and in recovery,” said DeLauro, “No one should ever face violence while serving their community. This incident reminds us of the danger our brave first responders face in the line of duty to keep our community safe. My thoughts are with the officers and their families, and we thank them for their dedication to public safety.”
