ICYMI: Liccardo on CNN – Trump's "Epidemic of Lawlessness" and Militarized Enforcement Do Not Belong in a Democracy

July 11, 2025 Press Release   NEW YORK, N.Y. - Last night, Congressman Sam Liccardo joined Abby Phillip on CNN to discuss the Trump Administration's attacks on the 14th Amendment and birthright citizenship. When asked by Phillip, host of NewsNight, about the constitutionality of Trump's executive orders revoking birthright citizenship, Liccardo responded: " This is just an example of the epidemic of lawlessness and this administration. We now have eight federal judges who have all said essentially that the 14th Amendment means what it says, just as the Supreme Court said 127 years ago. This is nothing startling, and yet the administration is doubling down on executive orders that everyone knows are unconstitutional and in the meantime terrorizing cities," said Liccardo during his CNN appearance. " We just saw in Los Angeles a group of eight-year-olds at a summer camp having been invaded by a Blackhawk helicopter.
