Senator Andy Kim Statement Condemning Trump’s New Travel Ban

WASHINGTON D.C.–Senator Andy Kimreleased the following statement against theTrump administration banning citizens of 12 countries from visiting the United States,and placing restrictions on a total of 19:
“Trump’s travel ban is rooted in bigotry, not security. It is a sad attempt by the Administration to distract Americans from the rising prices they’ve caused, an economy they’ve put at risk, and a bill they’re pushing in Congress to take health care and food assistance from people who need it most just to hand it to their billionaire donors.
“This distraction won’t make America safer; it will only further isolate and divide us. The Trump Administration has abandoned the ideals that make America a place of hope and opportunity. They should stop the distractions and focus on improving the lives of everyday Americans.”
